Food Porn: Kristians, Lanzarote

Whilst in Lanzarote we spent a lot of time in Peruto Del Carmen waiting around during our diving surface intervals. There are plenty of places to eat in this small town but with most serving the same menu as the next we weren’t particularly impressed. That was until we heard about Kristians

This restaurant is small and is run by a husband and wife team. We tried to go after our last dive but reservations are essential.  So we decided to book for our last night in Lanzarote and my god the food is delicious!

Our Starters:

starter Kristians Lanzarote

Mushrooms wrapper in bacon oozing with horseradish sauce

thai fish cakes Kristians Lanzarote

Fishcakes and Thai sweet chilli sauce

Main Course:

main course Kristians Lanzarote

Rack of Lamb in a rosemary and red wine sauce

main course kristians lanzarote

Fresh Seabass and rustic chips

Dessert:

dessert at kristians lanzarote

Dark chocolate and Malteaser cheesecake

We went to Kristians with the intention of only having a main meal but three hours and three courses later we left after plenty of wine to go with it.  Fine dining isn’t really my thing but this is definitely a place to check out if you have the chance.

Tips:
Book in advance, whilst we were eating there we saw plenty of walk ins being turned away.
15% off total bill on a Tuesday and Friday.
Trust in the specials menu.
Try the local suggested wine.

I can do without the fishcakes, but the lamb and the cheesecake look amazing. I especially want that cheesecake and now know what I’ll be picking up at the bakery this afternoon. It might not be the same, but it will have to do.

Her speciality was desserts but everything was soooo tasty! I’m not a big fan of fishcakes and chose mushrooms instead!

Great photos, the food is literally jumping off the plate. Whenever I arrive in a new country, a priority is to try a local dish as soon as I can. Food always seems to taste so good when traveling, apart from the occasional disaster of course.

Since coming back home I have realised how much my palette has changed, I’m craving loads of different tastes and always up for trying something random now!
Good job I’m in London!!

Yum! I’d be happy with the first dish being the whole meal. 😀
