\nLooking at a map, can you see that small island on the southeast coast of Africa? Southwest of the Indian Ocean? If you look east of Madagascar, about 900 kilometres, that\u2019s it! That\u2019s the Mauritius Island.<\/p>\n

The Republic of Mauritius actually includes the islands of Cargados Carajos, Rodrigues and also the Agalega Islands and its capital city is PortLouis. Mauritius is part of the bigger group of islands in the Indian Ocean known as the Mascarene Islands<\/p>\n

\nMauritius is a splendid picturesque island of long stretching white sandy beaches. The rich volcanic origins of the island

Where to go diving in Mauritius?<\/strong>
\nDiving is no doubt one of the best things you can do in Mauritius. The clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean and the fantastic underwater life are attractions every visitor should experience. Prepare your mask and snorkel, scuba gear and invite your favourite diving
\nbuddy. Here are the 4-must go diving spots of Mauritius.<\/p>\n

1) Grand Baie and Trou aux Biches<\/strong>
\nThis is found on the North West coast. You can head towards the Whale Roc, Lost City,
\nThe Tube and Waterlily where you\u2019ll schools of fishes, enchanting corals,
\nand curious rays and sharks. You can also see a Japanese ship wreck at a place called
\nStella Maru. Check it out!<\/p>\n

2) Ile Aux Cerfs<\/strong>
\nIt\u2019s a spot of beautiful coral reefs surrounded with interesting marine creatures like
\nyou\u2019ve never seen before. Ile Aux Cerfs is only a small island very well known for its sandy
\nbeach and pristine waters.<\/p>\n

3) Belle Mare Plage<\/strong>
\nThis is a good site for novice divers. You\u2019ll observe a beautiful underwater
\ncommunity highlighted by the gentle waving of soft coral as the water current<\/p>\n

passes through. Get lucky and you might bump into rare
\nfish, a friendly dolphin, an affable guitar shark and some turtles. It is also
\nreported that during the winter period, whales would be hospitable enough to welcome
\nsome divers.<\/p>\n

4) Rempart Serpent<\/strong>
\nThis is an awesome rocky site whose name literally means \u201cSnake Reef\u201d. This is because of the seaweed that sits on top of it, as it sways in the current it actual looks like a snake moving along the ocean floor. A number of weird-looking creatures are at home to this habitat. Imagine brightly coloured fish, sinister looking stonefish and discreet Moray Eels. A truly remarkable site!<\/p>\n
