Rangitoto Island<\/h3>\n

As the most distinguishable landmark around Auckland, Rangitoto Island has long been a favourite day-trip and boating destination for Aucklanders. From unique fauna and flora to decrepit WWII installations, there is a lot to see on Rangitoto. Also, the views from the top of the island are spectacular with the sparkling blue waters and emerald islands of the Hauraki Gulf, to the rugged horizons of the Waitakere Ranges in the west and Hunua Ranges in the east.<\/p>\n

Sailing<\/h3>\n

No trip in Auckland is complete if you don\u2019t try sailing. Known as the “City of Sails”, Auckland has the busiest recreational harbour in New Zealand. With numerous islands spread over 1500 nautical miles and with 500 sheltered island anchorages, it is the perfect destination for your cruising holiday. And as the former home of the Americas Cup, it attracts the world’s best sailors and most amazing super yachts from all over the world.<\/p>\n

When in Auckland, one of the first places you should visit is the Sky Tower in the Central Business District. Standing at 328 metres (1,076-ft), Sky tower offers breath-taking 360\u00b0 views across the city, harbours and beyond. Extremely beautiful at night, The Sky Tower is an excellent venue for enjoying a simple dinner with your friends and family. If you’re into adrenaline rush, you can take a walk around the top of the famous pergola or Sky Jump off the tower.<\/p>\n

For tourists who want to save their travel money<\/a>, you can try foraging wild fruits in Auckland. Through the Auckland Fruit Economy Map, it lists all the trees and other plants around Auckland that are free to pick.
