Sifnos Island is just one of those places, what starts as a simple search for\u00a0luxury holidays in Greece<\/a>\u00a0ends with you finding a destination you’ll undoubtedly end up returning to again and again for years to come. There are plenty of reasons why this island attracts new and returning guests annually (many even go as far as making it home), perhaps it’s the surprisingly high standard of restaurants available, the stunning beaches or the relaxed atmosphere from quiet nightlife and low-impact tourism.<\/p>\n

Whatever it is that’s drawing you to Sifnos this year, you won’t be disappointed but we’ve gone ahead and picked a few of our favourite things that no holidaymaker should miss.<\/p>\n

Not to miss: Sifnos, Greece<\/span><\/h2>\n

Moni Chrysopigi<\/span><\/h3>\n

This picturesque monastery, perhaps one of the most famous sites in Sifnos, was built in 1650 on the site of a much older church. It’s location, sitting upon a peninsular separated from the mainland,\u00a0provides the monastery with even more charm and a 40 minute walk from the village of Faros, through the equally beautiful Chrysopigi beach, is a great way to make even more of the trip.<\/p>\n

Kastro village<\/span><\/h3>\n

Kastro village is a cliff top village offering magnificent panoramic views of the Mediterranean. Built on the site of the islands old capital this is probably he most picturesque village on the island and the only one keeping a strong medieval character. Old mansions, narrow streets, traditional houses, old churches and unique entranceways make this a great location to search for\u00a0small villas in greece<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Acropolis of Agios Andreas<\/span><\/h3>\n

This archaeological site is arguable one of the most important sites on Sifnos and offers a great insight into the history of the island. The well-excavated site and accompanying museum are a history lovers dream but even if that’s not your thing, the views from up here across the island still make it a sight not to be missed.<\/p>\n

Omega3<\/span><\/h3>\n

If you consider yourself a fan of seafood (and you really should if you’re heading to Greece) then there is absolutely one bar\/restaurant you cannot afford to miss and that is Omega3. The experience of visiting alone is worth your time, set right on the beach front at\u00a0Platis Gialos this place is known for it’s gorgeous scenery and fantastic service.<\/p>\n

Of course what you’re really here for is the food. While the menu stays true to it’s roots with favourites such as\u00a0slow-cooked octopus and steamed mussels with red peppers and feta you’ll also find a very modern approach to seafood that’ll have you experiencing completely new flavours.
