Towards the end of last year, I wrote out my bucket list for visiting Iceland<\/a>. And while I’ve still yet to book tickets to visit the country, it hasn’t stopped the internet providing me with more and more reasons to make it happen as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

The bucket list is ever growing and changing, so what better way to keep a track of all the exciting things Iceland has to offer than by, once again, sharing them with you.<\/p>\n

My Iceland Bucket List *Updated*<\/span><\/h2>\n

Snowmobiling<\/span><\/h3>\n

I’m not sure I really need to add to the title. Snowmobiling, I can’t think of a single reason why I wouldn’t want to do this. After skiing, snowboarding and even snow biking<\/a>,\u00a0it just feels like natural progression.<\/p>\n

Although trying it in the flattest, least scenic place in the world would still be fun, imagine snowmobiling in Iceland<\/a> with breathtaking\u00a0views all around. Snowmobiling in the Golden Circle on the\u00a0Langj\u00f6kull glacier is simply a must-do.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Laugavegur Trek<\/span><\/h3>\n

This is probably Iceland’s most famous trek<\/a> and it’s easy to see why. The landscape looks simply stunning and has me wondering whether the 4-5 day predicted walking time takes into account stopping every 30 seconds for another picture.<\/p>\n

It’s a 55km route that includes green valleys, river crossing, gorgeous mountains and of course, a glacier. While camping sounds tempting, the idea of carrying my tent doesn’t so the cabins on route sound perfect to recover at night (and try to organise all those photos).<\/p>\n

Fimmv\u00f6r\u00f0uh\u00e1ls Hiking Trail<\/span><\/h3>\n

If by some miracle we make it to \u00de\u00f3rsm\u00f6rk (the end of the Laugavegur trek) and still have a burning desire for some hiking, then there is always the option to go a little further. It’s possible to reach Sk\u00f3gar by following the Fimmv\u00f6r\u00f0uh\u00e1ls hiking trail however, this appears to be a much more demanding hike.<\/p>\n

Despite the extra effort, the rewards sound great. Since the Eyjafjallaj\u00f6kull eruption<\/a> in 2010, there is now even more to see. A whole new mountain exists and the ground is still warm (warm enough to grill a sandwich apparently), the smoke still rising from the ground after all these years must add to what already looks like an incredible hike.<\/p>\n

Thrihnukagigur Volcano<\/span><\/h3>\n

Before you begin to worry too much, this volcano has been dormant for 4000 years and shows no sign of activity. That means you can get right in there and explore right the way down to the bottom of the volcano.<\/p>\n

The volcanic magma chamber inside the\u00a0Thrihnukagigur Volcano<\/a>\u00a0is full of vibrant colours and looks like yet another fabulous photo opportunity in Iceland.<\/p>\n

So until I inevitably see something else I want to do in Iceland, probably tomorrow, that is my updated bucket list.<\/p>\n
