After our recent unfortunate turn of events, Kirsty was a little upset about not getting to enjoy the delights of the Copenhagen Christmas market. She absolutely lives for these types of things, anything Christmas related and she’s there.

So while we might not be going to Copenhagen, there is still (our now) local Bucharest Christmas market to explore, which we’ll be doing over the next few evenings. Not only that, but now we’re returning to the UK where there are plenty of Christmas markets to explore. The UK, like most places in Europe, has endless options, all ranging in size and style to keep even the biggest Christmas geek (Kirsty) entertained.

In fact, our hometown Lincoln has a Christmas market that is very popular each year, set in the uphill area of the city, it incorporates both the castle and cathedral making for quite a special setting. The streets are alive with excited children and merry adults and the restaurants and bars are all buzzing with excitement as the mulled wine and food flows everywhere.

Here’s a test for you, can you find Lincoln with your first click on the interactive map below?

If you’re looking for a Christmas market to get you into the spirit this year, then take a look at the map above.

Simply click on any of the markers to find out the name of the market, the dates it’s running and all other essentials to plan your trip. It wouldn’t surprise me if Kirsty insists we stop at a couple of these on our way home this year…

Merry Christmas!
