Episode 1 – The Sinking of Memories.
It’s not every day a super hero is born, however on the 18th September 1987 special forces were at work. Years were spent perfecting his skills in private, the few who knew doubted his ability but soon all was to be revealed.
On a routine superhero surveillance mission down the Nam Song River not all was well. A damsel in distress could be heard for miles around crying:
“Poooooii – have you got the camera? POOII I think I’ve dropped it”
Instantly Super Boyfriend knew the magnitude of the situation, to be called by his other non-given name of Poi meant something was seriously wrong. After comforting the fair lady and putting her mind at ease with a cup of tea and a chocolate digestive biscuit, super boyfriend began the search.
It seemed an impossible task, the fast flowing river surely swept the camera away and with it, all the memories. No task too big, he got to work.
Battering through strong currents and huge rocks Super Boyfriend refused to give up. Just when it seemed to be beyond him something shining in the distance caught his superhuman awesome vision, fighting the urge to write it off as ‘just another fucking shiny rock’ he dove his hand deep into the water fighting off the vicious river sharks (why not?).
The battle seemed to last for hours, the sharp rocks making it impossible to keep his balance while the circling sharks grew ever more confident. Again and again they attacked, each time inflicting more and more damage. Luckily super boyfriend had been watching a lot of Nat Geo lately and had learnt how to fight off the infuriated beasts with his bare awesome hands.
With the sharks scattered it was time for his moment of glory, he reached deep into the water but overtaken with excitement fell flat on his face after slipping on a rock. Not dwelling on the moment and with super awesome boyfriendness he lunged back into the unforgiving waters a second time.
As he lifted the camera triumphantly from the murky water the crowd of completely average unsuperhuman bystanders cheered. On its return to the fair lady the camera was embraced like a small child. Despite feeling completely inadequate next to this incredible man she offered to treat him to some fried noodles and a beer lao later that evening. He casually responded that he would swap the noodles for an extra beer before disappearing into the distance feeling content and happy with his newly inflated ego.Pleae note: Some events have been altered for dramatic purposes.
