So here we are, it’s been six months since we left sunny England and began our travels around China and SE Asia, here’s an update of our lives for those of you that care…
How are we?
We’re doing great, we’re still alive, no serious health issues, all is good and we’re living the dream. Best of all we’re still together and survived many travel days without killing each other.
Where are you?
After living (relaxing) in Chiang Mai we’ve started backpacking again. We’ve spent the last two weeks in Laos, having fun in Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng. Today we arrived in Vientiane and will be heading south for another couple of weeks in Laos. After that it’s into Cambodia for a month and back into Thailand for songkran
We’ve just come from Vang Vieng so I can’t miss out tubing, no matter what you’ve heard about it I’m not sure it’s possible to have much more fun in a day. I really really enjoyed it.
Sticking to your plans?
This question was asked in our two months on the road post and thought it had to be asked once again.
After destroying all our previous plans by going to and staying in Chiang Mai for so long, we actually managed to stick to our next plan by coming into Laos despite being very tempted last minute to change everything and follow our friends into Malaysia. So for once, yes we have stuck to some form of plan!
When we arrived in Chiang Mai we decided to try and make some big improvements while we were in one place. We set ourselves some targets and I’m glad to say we achieved them all.
The most boring of which was going through all our posts and improving the SEO, something we knew nothing about when we started, thankfully google took notice and started sending more people our way.
Many other minor changes were made but you don’t need to know such tedious things, all you need know is, the blog? It’s going very well.
Oh yes, how could I forget, Noplacetobe.com just turned a year old.
And to end…
So that’s about it, we’re still having a great time, madly in love with Asia and have no desire to go home anytime soon. As for money issues, I have no idea, speak to Kirsty, she still lets me have a beer every night so it can’t be that bad.
