Welcome to round 6 of ‘Meet a Random Traveller’. Once we hit the road this section will be dedicated to the people we meet along the way but, until then, we shall meet some of the guys and gals who have beat us to it and are already out their doing their thing.

Who are you?
My name is Andi and I am without a doubt a travel addict!  I have always been insatiably curious about life, however about 7 years ago I discovered my passion for travel on a trip to China for my studies (I am a Chinese Medicine Doctor).  Since that trip, I have been having the most extraordinary love affair with exploration and last year, after much encouragement from friends and other fellow travelers, I began my website My Beautiful Adventures (MyBeautifulAdventures.com), which chronicles my adventures around the world.

Don’t you have a home to go to?
Well, I have always considered myself a citizen of the world, but I have recently put down roots in Charlotte, North Carolina.  This is where I have started my Wellness Center (TheHealingHandsClinic.com) and it is where my family lives.  Because of my profession, I cannot travel indefinitely, rather I leave the country every couple of months for short periods of time.  I really enjoy this lifestyle, as I have the best of both worlds: an incredibly fulfilling profession and the ability to peruse my passion of travel.

Where have you been?
I finally hit the 40 country mark this year and I am hoping to make it to 50 before I turn 30 (I have 2 years left).  I have been to every continent, minus Antarctica, which is now #1 on my dream destination list.  Most of my travels have been centered around Central and South America because of proximity to my home and due to my love of all things Latin.  I tend to repeat countries that wow me, such as Argentina (I have been there 7 times), Australia (I have been there 3 times), and China (I have been there 3 times).

Where are you heading to?
I have 2 international trips planned at the moment, with several more in the works.  Back in December/January I spent 2 glorious weeks traveling throughout Brazil.  South America has always been my favorite continent, yet I was still surprised to have fallen so hard for the country.  An opportunity presented itself to return less than 5 months after my trip and of course I immediately said yes!  This time I will be spending my days sunbathing, diving, and surfing at the various beaches of Buzios, which is a coastal city 2 hours south of Rio de Janeiro.  4 weeks after I return, I am headed to Europe to celebrate my brother’s graduation from high school in Amsterdam and Ibiza.  This is our first big trip together and I could not be more excited to introduce him to the amazing world of travel.

What’s your favorite place so far?
This is truly an impossible question to answer.  Every country I have visited has touched me in some way.  If I was forced to pick my top 5, they would be: Argentina, Australia, China, Cuba, and South America.  Though I just returned from India and I am still on a high.  Also, I spent some time in the South Pacific in Fiji and New Caledonia and I cannot imagine a more beautiful part of the world.

What’s in your bag that you are yet to touch?
At this point I consider myself an expert packer and I typically never over or under pack.  Although, I usually bring too many books thinking I will have time to read, which I never do.  When I travel I if I am not out and about having adventures, I am sleeping.
