Random Traveller #17
Posted on 31. Jul, 2010 by Kirsty in Meet A Random Traveller
Welcome to round 17 of ‘Meet a Random Traveller’. Once we hit the road this section will be dedicated to the people we meet along the way but, until then, we shall meet some of the guys and gals who have beat us to it and are already out their doing their thing.
Random Traveller #17
Who are you?
We are Anthony & Elise, an Australian couple who are backpacking around the world. We have been on the road now for 6 months and have been having an amazing time so far. We have a website: Positive World Travel where we are sharing all our thoughts, advice, videos and photos from our trip-hoping to inspire others to get out there and travel this amazing world!
Don’t you have a home to go to?
Our usual home is the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Apart from the obvious of leaving behind a close knit group of friends and family we also left behind our jobs, our car, our furniture…oh and great surf and yummy home cooked meals!! We wanted to travel so we could experience all the world has to offer and create amazing memories we will be able to look back on in years to come.
Where have you been?
So far we have been to Thailand, Borneo, Malyasia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam.
Where are you heading to?
Next we are off to explore souhthern India and then over to Europe.
What’s your favorite place so far?
Definitely Vietnam. We bought a motorbike and travelled for 2 months from Hanoi in the north to Saigon in the south. We met some amazing people, stayed in some small, small villages, fell in to a rice paddy, got bogged down in landslide mud, abseiled through waterfalls, went cave diving and relaxed on the beach!
What’s in your bag that you are yet to touch?
We have not yet used our sleeping bags yet-it has been waaay to hot throughout Asia! We plan on using them though when we head to Europe.
We were a little over zealous with the amount of things in our First Ais Kit! half the stuff we have never even used let alone know what it is! We have downsized that quite a bit so far!
A big thanks to Anthony & Elise for agreeing to take part in this. Check them out on Twitter at @PositiveTravel
